1. Noise Pollution destroying our amenity, lowering property values, and destroying long term tourism. 2. Maintenance of the planes constantly flying over our homes, qualifications of those undertaking the maintenance ? 3. Language barrier causing confusion over the similar names of the Mildura runway and Wentworth runway - has already caused many near misses. With limited understanding of English, students will not be getting full and proper instruction from their instructors. 4. Not adhering to the social distancing laws - see those concerning learning to drive a car, 5. Constant circuits of planes practising touch downs, refusing to allow a time slot for other planes to use the runway. This has affected all commercial airlines, including the flying ambulance. 6. Flying during Public Holidays, late at night, and early on Sundays. Residents are unable to mow lawns prior to 10AM on a Sunday 7. No Public Consultation prior to implementation, 8. Lack of any environmental studies, including a Noise Pollution study, prior to implementation, 9. Large amounts of money ($$Millions) was promised, but we have yet to see the effects of this input. No proof that any money has been contributed to the Mildura economy at all, 10. Complicated Company structure, with links to fraudulent activity in China, 11. IAA CEO unable/ refusing to answer questions to the satisfaction of the residents 12. Many more planes and students expected, this is still in early stages 13. We cant use AVGAS in our race cars, but the flying school planes are allowed to fly in a concentrated fashion over our homes, over schools, and over the farms that feed us. Lead Poisoning anyone? What are the rates of lead based miscarriages? 14. The is no way to guarantee that these pilots will return in future years as part of the Chinese air force and act against us. Was there any checks to see if student pilots had either previously completed military training, or have any military links. 15. Who is completing the pilot medicals ? is there another possible conflict of interest ?? 16. No contact from the local newspaper publication, just multiple posts in favour of the Flying School?? 17. Low flying plans are affecting livestock, particularly the horses under the circuit flight path. 18. Overcrowding at the Mildura Inlander. How can 100+ student pilots be living there, whilst they still supply tourist accommodation? Are students eating in their rooms? 19. Instrument Landing System - Were is the feasibility / environmental study? Were neighbouring land owners notified of the major upgrade? Is it being put in the correct position? What will the full cost to ratepayers be? and most importantly, what will the Life Expectancy of this technology be? 20. Impact on tourism. No one will want to holiday in our region with the noise pollution. Scenic Flights can no longer be chartered out of Mildura. The Major Airlines will not want to land here, and will be diverting their flying routes. Train anyone? 21. Qualifications of instructors? Especially for night training? Instructors are being forced to teach areas that they themselves are not qualified in. 22. OHS Issues in the Airport Hanger. Proper workplace safety procedures are not being followed. 23. Insufficient English lessons - bus drivers were requested to help students to learn English while they were driving around. 24. Are Chinese staff (tradies, instructors and motel staff) being paid an award wage, and are the conditions of their original contract being met? 25. Chinese tradies, brought in to do renovations on the Mildura Inlander at "Chinese Price", entered on a tourist visa. 26. Anne Webster stated that Chinese familys of the students would be holidaying in Mildura. Not even possible, these student are from very poor families, and are essentially 'owned' by their employer, and are contracted to work for that employer for 99 years while they pay of their training debt. 27. Jason Modica (Independant Councillor) stated on his facebook page that he did not do his due diligence in regards to the ILS, and after we shared that post to our facebook page, Simon Clemence raised a motion of misconduct against him. 28. 7 instructors all resigned in July on masse, due to a culture of bullying. All are hesitant to put IAA on their resume's. 29. Terry Shen (IAA Accountant) bribed 3 examiners to pass students who were not ready. This was reported to CASA. No action taken. 30. Despite all the reports and complaints that have been lodged, nothing has been done. CASA are still saying they are working with IAA to improve their safety, but 6 months ago at a CASA safety conference in Mildura, a speaker said that being procative, its time to be reactive. 31. The chairman of the board of CASA is Tony Matthews. He lives in Mildura and has strong ties to Cameron Sutton. 32. Shelley Clemence was appointed HR at IAA in October 2019 (see her FB page). Simon Clemence announced the CEO position in March 2020. During that time he did not disclose any conflicts of interest whilst council discussed airport issues. The MRCC Conflict of Interest Policy clearly includes daughter. 33. 8 companies to run 1 flying school. All are registered for GST. All would be claiming the income is 'exporting a service' so is income exempt. 34. ILS will cost $4million to instal. According to the MAPL website, it will also require $100000 each year in maintenance, and should last 15-20 years (last yes, but outdated in 3). MAPL will charge $50 per use, this equates to 20 uses every day of the year for 15 years just to cover costs. This ILS is not here for safety, but for the use of the flying schools (they putting in the wrong one for safety). But why even put it in for the flying schools to use if its not going to make any money? 35. Residents arrested for using 'aussie slang' or are threatened with legal action for petty issues. 36. Mayor bullies an electoral candidate and forces her to withdraw. Mayors family issue death threats to pesky plane members. 37. Our Mayor tells affected residents that 'he has 130 cadets to train, and he doesnt care about our issues' on a late night phone call. 38. Mildura Airport 'terms and conditions of use' actually states that RPT planes must give way to training circuit planes. 40. IAA planes crossed the NSW border without permit, during times of COVID restrictions.
